Dermal conference focuses on modern wound treatment

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) The University of Faisalabad under the auspices of its Department of Dermatology successfully organised the fifth international dermal conference focusing on modern and effective treatment of skin wounds and their scars.

The two-day conference brought together more than 50 national and international experts from various countries including the United States, Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, Palestine and China and they presented their research papers on various aspects of dermal sciences.

The participants included dermatologists, plastic surgeons, pediatric specialists, breast cancer surgeons, as well as experts from nursing and allied health sciences, who shared the latest research on treatment of different types of wounds, scar management and associated challenges.

Dean of Lahore Medical and Dental College Professor Dr Abdul Majeed Chaudhary attended the conference as chief guest while Professor Dr Nabila Tallat, Dean Faculty of Surgery at Children's Hospital Lahore, and Professor Dr Aneela Asghar, Dean Nursing Faculty at King Edward Medical University, were the guests of honor.

International experts including Dr Suryani Bheron from Indonesia, Dr Afliza Ashari from University of Putra Malaysia, and family medicine specialist Dr Bilal Hussain Pracha from Texas, addressed the conference via video link.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abdul Majeed Chaudhary termed the conference a timely and much-needed initiative for advancing modern treatment of skin diseases and appreciated the efforts of the university’s Department of Dermatology for organizing the event.

TUF Rector Prof Dr Amanullah Malik, Registrar Dr Zahida Maqbool and Head of Dermal Sciences and Dean Clinical Research Professor Dr Tanzeela Khalid were also present on the occasion.

A poster competition on awareness about skin diseases and their treatment was also organized among university students and Aiza Ali from the Department of English secured first position.

A large number of university students and faculty members along with the experts from Madina Teaching Hospital Faisalabad and other health institutions attended the conference and benefited from the experiences and research shared by the experts.
