Detained robbery suspect dies during attack on police team in Pindigheb

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) A detained suspect in a robbery case died during an attack on a police team in the Pindigheb area of Attock on Tuesday after being struck during an incident allegedly involving his own accomplices.

In Attock’s Pindigheb police jurisdiction, a police team came under attack while transporting a detained suspect identified as Qaiser Khan, a resident of Gunda Kas.

According to officials, the suspect had been taken into custody in connection with a robbery case and was being brought back to the police station after recovery of a .30 bore pistol.

The incident occurred on Ratrian Road where unidentified individuals had reportedly blocked the road by placing stones.

As the police vehicle approached, the assailants initiated firing at the police party.

Police officials stated that the team responded with timely measures to ensure their safety.

During the incident, the detained suspect, Qaiser Khan, sustained critical injuries, allegedly caused by fire from his own accomplices.

He was being shifted to a hospital for medical treatment but succumbed to his injuries on the way.

Upon receiving information, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Pindigheb Police Station reached the scene along with additional personnel. A search operation has been launched in the surrounding area to apprehend the unidentified attackers.

Police sources confirmed that the deceased suspect had a prior record in multiple serious cases, including robbery and dacoity.

Further investigation is underway.
