DG Food Authority Injured in gun attack

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) Kashif Iqbal Gilani, Director General of the food Authority, was injured in an attempted assassination in Peshawar on Wednesday.

According to police report, the incident occurred in the suburban area of Chamakni, Garhi Rashida, when Gilani was traveling to his office in an official vehicle. Unknown armed motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire on his car.

As a result, Gilani sustained a bullet injury to his leg and was shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors have confirmed that his condition is now stable and out of danger.

Following the attack, the assailants managed to flee the scene. Police quickly cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, but no arrests have been made so far.

Police have initiated a formal investigation into the incident.
