DG LDA visits development projects along with DC

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) Director General (DG) Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Tahir Farooq on Saturday directed officials to accelerate work on the Bhati Chowk Underpass during a visit to major ongoing development projects, including the Data Darbar Extension Project, alongside the deputy commissioner Lahore.

During a briefing, officials informed the DG that construction on the Bhati Chowk Underpass is continuing round the clock, with 300 piles completed so far, accounting for 60 per cent of the total piling work. Expressing concern over the pace, Farooq instructed authorities to expedite progress to ensure timely completion.

The DG also reviewed development activities at the Data Darbar Extension Project, including the pedestrian zone and parking area in front of the shrine, as well as ongoing works at the railway station and Circular Road.

Chief Engineer Tepa Iqrar Hussain and the project director briefed the DG, noting that work on the railway station’s parking area is progressing swiftly. Farooq further inspected the remodeling and façade upgradation works, directing officials to maintain the highest standards and ensure quality in both construction and finishing.

Project Director LDA, contractors, and NESPAK representatives were also present during the visit.
