KHANEWAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) Director General Agriculture, Pest Warning and Quality Control of Pesticides, Punjab, Dr. Aamir Rasool, has urged farmers to promote early cotton cultivation in the region.
During a visit to Khanewal district, the DG PWQCP addressed a farmers seminar and provided guidance about improved crop management practices, current prices of agricultural inputs, and the expected market trends for cotton, enabling them to make informed decisions for better yield and profitability.
On the occasion, Additional Director General Agriculture (Pest Warning), douth zone Multan, Ilyas Raza Kulachi, highlighted the importance of adopting Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques for effective control of harmful pests affecting cotton crops.
Furthermore, Director Agriculture (Pest Warning) Multan Division, Dr. Muhammad Ramzan Aasi, Director Agriculture (Pest Warning) Khanewal, Dr. Muhammad Yasir, and Deputy Director Agriculture Extension Khanewal, Mehr Muhammad Iqbal, delivered detailed briefings on modern cotton production technologies, management of mango hopper pests, and overall crop protection strategies.
The seminar was attended by a large number of farmers and agriculture officials, who appreciated the department’s efforts to guide them on scientific farming practices and pest control measures.
