DG Research Livestock reviews progress of diagnostic laboratory project in Chiniot

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Apr, 2026) Director General (Research) Livestock Dr Sajjad Hussain visited district Chiniot and inspected the under-construction diagnostic laboratory being established to strengthen livestock disease surveillance and service delivery in the region.

He was accompanied by Director Livestock Faisalabad Dr Haidar Ali Khan and Director AD DRS Dr Halima Saadia.

During visit, the officer delegation conducted a detailed review of the ongoing construction work and assessed overall progress of the project.

The DG (Research) Livestock thoroughly examined compliance with approved standards, construction quality and adherence to the project timeline.

He said that maintaining high standards in construction and ensuring timely completion were critical to achieve the project’s intended objectives.

On the occasion, Additional Director Livestock Chiniot Dr Atta Subhani and other officials briefed the delegation about technical aspects of the project including construction specifications, completion schedule and operational planning for the facility.

Dr Sajjad Hussain directed the concerned authorities to expedite the remaining work while strictly adhering to quality benchmarks.

He said that no compromise should be made on construction standards and regular monitoring must be ensured to maintain transparency and efficiency throughout the process.

Highlighting significance of the project, he said that establishment of a modern diagnostic laboratory would enable timely detection of animal diseases, strengthen surveillance systems and significantly improve service delivery in the livestock sector.

Such facilities would also contribute to boost livestock productivity and safeguarding farmers’ interests, he added.

He instructed that the laboratory should be equipped in line with modern requirements so that, upon completion, it can provide efficient and advanced diagnostic services to livestock farmers across the district and adjoining areas.
