QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) Director General Social Welfare Balochistan, Mir Saifullah Khan Khetran, on Friday visited a school for hearing-impaired children established under the Special Education program.
During the visit, he met with students, teachers, and staff, and reviewed the educational and training facilities being provided at the institution.
The students warmly welcomed the DG and presented him with a ceremonial salute, which he acknowledged with respect and affection. This moment reflected the confidence, discipline, and quality training of the children.
Speaking to the students, Mir Saifullah Khetran emphasized that persons with disabilities were a talented and respected part of society. He stated that the Government of Balochistan was committed to providing equal opportunities in all fields of life for special children and persons with disabilities, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the progress of society.
He highlighted that providing quality education, modern training, rehabilitation facilities, and a friendly environment for children with hearing impairments and other disabilities was among the government’s top priorities.

Saifullah Khetran stressed that instead of pitying persons with disabilities, society must focus on empowering them. He called on all segments of society to respect their rights, ensure equal opportunities in education, employment, and social activities, and remove barriers that hindered their participation.
Acknowledging the role of teachers, he praised their dedication, describing the education and training of special children as a great national service. He assured that the government would continue to support such institutions and educators.
Officials from the Directorate of Social Welfare Balochistan also reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, promoting social inclusion, and ensuring access to quality education, rehabilitation, and welfare services across the province.
