DIG Operations orders crackdown on illegal Afghans

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) DIG Operations Lahore Faisal Kamran, declaring the peace of the city and the protection of citizens as the first duty, ordered a full-scale crackdown on illegal Afghans.

Deciding to take action against Afghans associated with business and employment in commercial centers, markets in Lahore, DIG Operations directed the relevant authorities to arrest those who provide accommodation and facilities to illegal Afghans.

In a meeting with the Sadar Division Police on crime prevention, DIG Operations directed the SHOs to control incidents of motorcycle snatching. SP Security, SP Sadar, circle officers, SHOs, in-charge of the outpost attended the meeting.

He said that the supply of ice, hashish and other drugs should be stopped, strong action should be taken, absconders and habitual criminals, court fugitives should be brought to justice, there is a zero tolerance policy on cases related to women and children, immediate action should be taken.

The DIG Operations said that crime is not acceptable under any circumstances, cases should be registered under the correct provisions, SHOs should reach the crime scene, fulfill the requirements of providing justice to the oppressed citizens, legal and departmental action will be taken against corruption and negligence in duties.
