QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) Deputy Inspector General of Police Quetta, Imran Shaukat, addressing a press conference emphasized that Quetta Police is committed to serving the public, not ruling over them.
He said that protecting the lives and property of citizens is the foremost responsibility of the force, and no officer will be allowed to misuse authority.
DIG Imran Shaukat urged citizens to immediately report any incidents of bribery or unlawful demands by police officials. Complaints can be lodged by calling 15, registering on the Quetta Police website, or contacting the department directly. “Our doors are open to every citizen,” he assured.
He stressed that police officers are paid through public taxes and are therefore accountable to the people. “Respect, justice, and lawful conduct towards citizens will be ensured at all costs,” he added.
Referring to recent incidents, Imran Shaukat confirmed that cases have been registered against officers involved in the Pod Gali Chowk firing and the Mark-X case, with transparent investigations underway.
“No one is above the law, not even police officers,” he declared.
He further revealed that members of the Eagle Squad accused of demanding bribes have been confined to quarter guard and cases registered against them. “Internal accountability will continue without discrimination,” he said.
Highlighting a significant achievement, Imran Shaukat announced that the SCIW Quetta team successfully recovered five-year-old Muzammil Ahmed, who had been kidnapped for ransom. The operation was carried out using modern technology and professional strategy, leading to the arrest of suspects.
The DIG pledged strict legal action against criminal elements, corruption, and abuse of power.
He encouraged citizens to share complaints without fear, assuring them of full support. “A strong bond of trust between the public and police is the foundation of a peaceful society.
Quetta Police remains active for public service, transparent accountability, and upholding the rule of law,” he concluded.
