DIG, SSP Loralai review Ashura security arrangements

LORALAI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) On the occasion of Ashura, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Police Loralai Range, Junaid Ahmed Sheikh, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Loralai, Dr. Fahad Ahmed, visited the Imam Bargah in Loralai to review security arrangements for Muharram processions and Majalis.

During the visit, senior police officials met with officers and personnel deployed on security duty, commending their alertness, professionalism, and dedication. They also distributed food among the officers and personnel, paying tribute to their tireless services in maintaining peace during Muharram.

Speaking on the occasion, DIG Junaid Ahmed Sheikh emphasized that ensuring law and order and protecting the lives and property of mourners was the foremost responsibility of the police. He noted that a comprehensive security plan was being fully implemented to deal with any untoward incident, while the force remained committed to serving the public and promoting religious harmony.

SSP Dr. Fahad Ahmed highlighted that additional personnel had been deployed across the district to ensure effective monitoring of processions and majalis. He explained that special security measures had been enforced at sensitive locations, including checkpoints, patrols, walk-through gates, metal detectors, and modern surveillance systems. He urged all officers and personnel to remain vigilant and perform their duties with full responsibility and professionalism to provide a safe environment for mourners.

The SSP also appreciated the cooperation of citizens, organizers of processions and majalis, and peace committees, stressing that maintaining law and order was only possible through collective efforts between the public and law enforcement agencies.

At the conclusion of the visit, police officials reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring foolproof security arrangements during Muharram and pledged to utilize all available resources for the protection of citizens.
