RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) District Education Officer (Girls) Rawalpindi Hajra Shaheen on Monday said that month of April has been declared as “Digital Literacy and Technology Integration Month” across Punjab under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
She said that modern IT activities have formally been launched in all government girls’ schools of Rawalpindi district under the initiative.
In a statement, she said the campaign aims to equip female students with skills required in the digital age and prepare them for academic and professional challenges.
Various educational institutions are organizing IT workshops, computer training sessions, online learning programmes and awareness seminars as part of the campaign, she added.
Talking to APP, Hajra Shaheen said students were being trained in basic computer usage, safe and effective internet browsing, use of digital platforms and modern software to enable them to compete confidently in a rapidly changing world.
She said special training programmes were also being conducted to enhance teachers’ professional capacity so they could effectively integrate modern teaching methods and technology into classrooms.
The initiative would not only improve the standard of education but also help students compete at the global level, she added.
The DEO expressed commitment to utilize all available resources to make the campaign successful in Rawalpindi district. “Digital literacy is an essential need of the present era, and we are ensuring that every student has access to modern technology and can benefit from it,” she said.
She added that the central theme of the campaign is “The Future is Digital,” reflecting efforts to raise awareness among the younger generation about the importance and effective use of modern technology.
