Digital overhaul boosts transparency, drives over Rs10 millions recovery in MCF: commissioner

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Apr, 2026) Divisional Commissioner/Administrator Municipal Corporation Faisalabad (MCF) Raja Jahangir Anwar has said that in a major stride towards transparent governance and improved municipal performance, the MCF Planning Branch has been digitised which resulted in the recovery of Rs10 million during March under various heads including building plans, commercialization and conversion fees.

Presiding over a meeting, he reviewed the progress and discussed various matters related to the digital transformation of different departments of the Municipal Corporation.

He appreciated digitization of MCF Planning Branch following earlier reforms in the Regulation wing and said that the initiative had significantly enhanced transparency and improved the overall performance graph of the institution.

He remarked that such progress reflected the vision of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz for modernizing public service delivery through technology.

He directed the MCF officers to maintain the momentum and leave no room for complacency in sustaining and expanding the reform process.

Briefing the meeting, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Malik Murtaza highlighted the performance of other departments and informed that efforts were underway to digitalize the remaining branches of the Municipal Corporation to further streamline operations and improve service delivery.

He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to leveraging digital tools for efficient governance, accountability and better facilitation of citizens.
