DIGP for adopting zero-tolerance policy against narcotics

NAWABSHAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) Deputy Inspector General police Faisal Bashir Memon, chaired a high-level meeting at DIGP Range Office where a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics was announced.

The meeting was attended by SSPs and DSPs from all districts of the range. The overall law and order situation, crime prevention measures, and particularly the eradication of drug-related activities were reviewed in detail. Addressing the participants, DIG directed that a strict zero-tolerance approach be adopted against narcotics and that indiscriminate action be taken against those involved in the drug trade. He emphasized that drug dealers, suppliers, and facilitators must be dealt with firmly and that no negligence or leniency would be tolerated.

A detailed briefing on the overall crime situation was also presented in this regard. DIG instructed officers to further strengthen intelligence-based operations against criminal elements to ensure effective crime control. He also stressed the importance of improving public relations, urging police officers to build stronger connections with the community to gain public cooperation in eliminating crime. At the conclusion of the meeting, DIG directed all SPs to intensify ongoing efforts against crime, especially the campaign against narcotics, and to ensure measurable performance in their respective districts.
