DIKhan Police launch crackdown on overcharging by public transport

Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) The traffic police in Dera Ismail Khan have initiated a special campaign against public transport operators involved in overcharging passengers, following directives issued by District Police Officer Ziauddin Ahmad.

According to an official statement, DSP Traffic Anwar Khattak, along with Traffic Incharge Qaiser Hilal Sial, is supervising the ongoing enforcement drive aimed at ensuring compliance with government-approved fare rates.

During the campaign, traffic police personnel conducted inspections at various points across the district and took legal action against vehicles found charging excessive fares.

Drivers were strictly instructed to adhere to the officially notified fare structure.

The traffic police reiterated their commitment to safeguarding passengers’ rights and emphasized that strict action against violators will continue without interruption.

A police spokesperson stated that no leniency would be shown to transporters exploiting passengers, and urged the public to report any such incidents to the authorities.
