District admin inspects 12,184 during Ramazan to stop profiteering

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Mar, 2026) The District Administration Abbottabad has inspected 12,118 shops during a comprehensive crackdown to ensure the availability of essential commodities at government-fixed rates during the holy month of Ramazan.

According to the Regional Information Office, a total of 460 inspections were carried out across the district, during which 12,184 shops and business outlets were thoroughly checked.

As a result of these strict measures, 146 First Information Reports were registered against violators, while fines amounting to more than Rs.

51,00,000 rupees were imposed. Additionally, 384 commercial establishments were sealed, and 188 individuals were arrested for violating the official price list.

The District Administration has made it clear that providing relief to the masses is its foremost priority during Ramzan, and no one would be allowed to exploit the situation through overcharging or by defying the government-notified rates. Officials have also appealed to citizens to keep the official price list in mind while making purchases and to report any violations or complaints to the concerned authorities immediately.
