District admin seals 17 shops for violating prescribed business hours

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) The district administration continued its crackdown for the second consecutive day

to ensure strict enforcement of Punjab government’s energy policy, sealing a total

of 17 shops for violating prescribed business hours.

Official sources said here on Thursday that 12 shops were sealed in Kot Momin

tehsil. Among them, four were located in Chenab Bazaar, three on Salim Road,

and five on Luxian Road. Meanwhile, in Sillanwali, one shop each in Saeed

Bazaar and Kutchery Bazaar was sealed for violating timing hours.

Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry has directed all Assistant

Commissioners and the departments concerned to ensure strict compliance with

the government’s energy conservation policy.

He emphasized that indiscriminate action would be taken against violators,

warning that no negligence or leniency would be tolerated.

The DC urged the business community to act responsibly in the national interest

by adhering to the prescribed timings, stressing that strict legal action would

continue against those failing to comply.
