PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Mar, 2026) In ongoing operation against land grabbers, the district administration has retrieved 25 marla of prime state land worth billions of rupees from the encroachment mafia in Sarafa Bazaar, located in the inner city.

The operation was carried out on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd)Sanaullah Khan and supervised by Assistant Commissioner (City) Zeeshan Najeeb. Officials from the Auqaf Department, Civil Defence, district police, Capital Metropolitan Government, and other relevant departments also participated in the drive.

According to official sources, the valuable government land in Sonar Market had been illegally occupied for a long period. A well-coordinated operation was planned and executed, during which the illegal occupation was removed in the presence of heavy contingents. Adequate police deployment was ensured to handle any potential resistance.

Following the operation, the retrieved property was sealed on-site and its possession was handed over to the Administrator Auqaf.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Sanaullah Khan stated that illegal occupation of state land would not be tolerated under any circumstances, and indiscriminate action would continue against such elements. He directed the authorities to identify state-owned properties across the city and adopt a comprehensive strategy to reclaim them from illegal occupants while ensuring close coordination among all departments.

He emphasized that the district administration’s objective was not only to safeguard public assets but also to utilize these resources for public welfare. He also urged citizens to report any illegal encroachments on government land to the district administration for timely action.

The district administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring the rule of law and stated that no activity against public interest would be tolerated. Strict actions against the encroachment mafia would continue without interruption in the future.
