PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) The district administration on Tuesday sealed several factories producing substandard candy, chips and papad, and arrested their owners during a crackdown in the provincial capital.
The action was taken on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Captain (R) Sanaullah Khan. In this regard, the Additional Assistant Commissioner (City) conducted inspections of multiple food manufacturing units located on Ring Road.
During the inspection, three factories were found violating hygiene standards, maintaining poor sanitation conditions and using substandard cooking oil.
Consequently, the factories were sealed and their owners were taken into custody.
The Deputy Commissioner warned owners of food production units, including those manufacturing slanty snacks, chips and papad, to ensure proper cleanliness and strict compliance with hygiene regulations, otherwise strict legal action would be taken.
He further directed administrative officers to continue inspections of such units in their respective areas and initiate legal proceedings against those found involved in violations.
