SANGHAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Apr, 2026) The District Administration Sanghar, in collaboration with UNICEF, organized an Influencer Engagement Program here to protect children from the crippling effects of polio.
Addressing the event held at a local hotel, Deputy Commissioner Sarah Javed on Monday said the initiative aimed to mobilize influential members of society, social media influencers, and local leaders to actively participate in the ongoing polio eradication campaign. “Together, we can permanently eliminate this disease,” she emphasized.
Health experts and relevant officials briefed the participants on the dangers of the Polio virus, preventive measures, and the critical importance of vaccination. Speakers highlighted that complete eradication of polio is achievable only when all segments of society contribute to this national effort.
Participating influencers pledged to use their platforms to spread positive messages about polio and encourage parents to ensure their children receive polio drops.
The program was also addressed by District Health Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdul Majeed Zehrani, all Assistant Commissioners, Muhammad Aftab, Dr. Shabbir Cheena, Dr. Hina, Shazia Mangrio (Mamta Program), and Civil Surgeon Aftab Azam Sariwal, who shared their experiences and insights.
Organizers said such initiatives play a crucial role in raising public awareness and achieving the national goal of a polio-free Pakistan.
