Distt admin accelerates development of Fort Food Street project

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) The Multan district administration has accelerated work on the Fort Food Street Project, aimed at transforming the historic fort area into a vibrant tourism, cultural, and recreational destination.

A review meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nauman Siddique was held to assess progress and finalize strategic planning for the project.

During the meeting, Incharge Fort Salahuddin Mazari presented a comprehensive briefing covering various development aspects, operational plans, and future projections of the initiative.

Deputy Director Coordination Abdul Samad and Assistant Director Marketing Umair Ghazanfar also attended the meeting and shared proposals regarding promotion, branding, and visitor engagement strategies.

The Fort Food Street Project envisions integrating Multan’s rich historical heritage with modern tourism infrastructure.

The initiative will feature renowned food brands, cultural festivals, traditional cuisine experiences, and family entertainment facilities, creating a dynamic environment for residents and tourists alike.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nauman Siddique stated that the project would revive the historic ambiance of Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh while presenting it in a modern and visitor-friendly format. He emphasized that the project will serve as a landmark attraction, promoting cultural preservation alongside economic growth.

He further noted that the Fort Food Street will emerge as a major hub for recreational activities, cultural expression, and tourism development, significantly contributing to Multan’s local economy and strengthening the city’s identity as a historic and cultural center.
