Division achieved 98 percent wheat cultivation targets:Commissioner

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Mar, 2026) Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Tuesday announced that 98 percent of wheat cultivation targets in Sargodha Division have been achieved.

He made the remarks while presiding over a meeting to review key administrative matters,including the upcoming wheat procurement campaign,austerity measures amid the energy crisis and other public service issues.

The session covered a six-point agenda focusing on energy conservation,wheat procurement,availability of manhole covers, stray dog control,performance of the e-Biz portal and amendments to the Punjab Land Revenue Ordinance 2026.

Senior officials,including the Additional Commissioner (Coordination),Deputy Commissioners of all four districts,Additional Deputy Commissioners (Revenue),Assistant Commissioners and department heads attended the meeting.

Officials briefed the commissioner that the wheat procurement drive will begin on April 15,2026 with harvesting expected around April 20,2026 and a projected yield increase of two to three maunds per acre.
