Doctor abducted, robbed at gunpoint

Armed suspects allegedly kidnapped a chest specialist doctor and fled with his vehicle, cash and valuables within the limits of City Police Station

LAYYAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) Armed suspects allegedly kidnapped a chest specialist doctor and fled with his vehicle, cash and valuables within the limits of City Police Station.

According to the first information report (FIR), unidentified armed men travelling in a white car intercepted renowned chest specialist Dr. Zahid Hameed Chughtai near Siddique Central Park in the interior city area. The suspects allegedly forced the doctor into their vehicle at gunpoint, covered his face with a cloth and shifted him to the back seat before fleeing from the scene.

The robbers allegedly snatched Rs 240,000 in cash, a wristwatch, ATM cards, mobile phone, documents of two vehicles and other valuables from the victim.

Police sources said the suspects later abandoned the doctor near Shorkot and escaped with his car and looted belongings. The accused also reportedly withdrew Rs 98,000 from an ATM using the victim’s ATM card.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
