DPM/FM Dar directs to strictly implement PM's Austerity measures

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee to oversee Fuel Subsidy and Austerity.

The Petroleum Minister apprised the participants about the existing fuel supplies position viz a viz the consumption.

He also shared the progress made so far to source fuels from other regions which are not affected by the War.

DPM/FM stressed the need to implement the Prime Minister’s Austerity measures in true spirit.

The meeting was also apprised about progress on Fuel subsidy program. DPM/FM directed that payments must be first tracked to ameliorate the burden for the common man.

The meeting was attended by the Minister IT, Federal Secretaries of Petroleum, Information Technology and Telecom, all four Provincial Chief Secretaries and other relevant stakeholders. Chief Secretaries AJK and GB also participated.
