DPO Dera reviews Muharram security arrangements at Imambargahs and sensitive points

Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jun, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Ziauddin Ahmad, visited various Imambargahs, mourning congregational sites and security checkpoints to review security arrangements put in place for Muharram-ul-Haram.

During the visit, the DPO met with custodians and organisers of different religious sites and discussed measures aimed at ensuring peace and maintaining law and order during the holy month.

He was accompanied by the in-charge of the District Security Branch (DSB), Nisar Khan, who briefed him on the security plan, deployment of police personnel and other precautionary measures adopted at Imambargahs and sensitive locations across the district.

The DPO also inspected security checkpoints and interacted with officers deployed on duty, directing them to remain vigilant and perform their responsibilities with dedication and professionalism.

He emphasized that foolproof security arrangements had been made to protect mourners and maintain a peaceful atmosphere during Muharram, adding that the police were fully prepared to deal with any untoward situation.

The visit formed part of the district police's ongoing efforts to monitor security arrangements and ensure effective implementation of the comprehensive security plan devised for Muharram-ul-Haram.
