DPO Dera reviews security measures at various Imambargahs

Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jun, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Ziauddin Ahmad, visited various Thallahs (Imambargahs) located within the jurisdiction of Cantt Police Station to review security arrangements ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram.

During the visit, the DPO inspected security measures and met with police officers and personnel deployed at different locations. He was accompanied by SP City Division Muhammad Nauman, DSP City Malik Abid Iqbal, SHO Cantt Abdul Ghaffar Khan and the In-charge of the District Special Branch (DSB).

The DPO received a briefing from the officials concerned regarding security arrangements at the Thallahs and emphasized that foolproof security must be ensured during Muharram processions and religious gatherings.

He directed the deployed personnel to remain vigilant, alert and perform their duties with dedication to maintain peace and public safety during the holy month.

Later, the DPO also visited various entry and exit checkpoints established in the area and reviewed the overall law and order situation. He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and reiterated the police department's commitment to ensuring a peaceful environment for mourners and citizens.

A police spokesperson said that all necessary measures were being taken to maintain security and facilitate religious activities during Muharram-ul-Haram across the district.
