DPO inspects Muharram procession routes, orders tight security across Kohat

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat Shahbaz Elahi on Friday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the designated routes for the 9th Muharram procession to review security arrangements aimed at ensuring the peaceful observance of Muharram. He was accompanied by SP Investigation Niaz Muhammad, SP Headquarters Ihsan Shah, and SP City Iftikhar Khan during the visit.

During the visit, the DPO inspected entry and exit points, security pickets, checking stations, and the deployment of police personnel along the procession routes. He directed officers to maintain foolproof security measures and ensure the effective utilization of all available resources to preserve law and order throughout the religious events.

Addressing police officers and jawans at various locations, Shahbaz Elahi urged them to remain highly vigilant and perform their duties with professionalism, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility.

He emphasized that safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, while ensuring the peaceful conduct of Muharram processions and gatherings, remained the top priority of Kohat Police.

During the visit, the DPO also met members of the Peace Committee to discuss measures for promoting communal harmony, inter-sect unity, and brotherhood during Muharram. The committee members assured their full cooperation with the police and civil administration and appreciated the comprehensive security arrangements put in place to facilitate the peaceful observance of the holy month.
