DPO Muzaffargarh awards punishments to ensure discipline in police

MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Mar, 2026) Continuing the process of departmental accountability, District Police Officer (DPO) Muzaffargarh, Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah, conducted an orderly room at Police Lines, where show-cause notices issued to police officers and personnel were reviewed.

According to the police spokesperson, the DPO heard the cases in detail and, based on evidence and explanations presented, awarded punishments to seven officers and personnel. The penalties included forfeiture of one year of service for one Sub-Inspector, six months’ service forfeiture for another Sub-Inspector, and a censure awarded to one Sub-Inspector.

Additionally, one employee’s annual increment was withheld, one constable was censured, while two constables were dismissed from service.

Meanwhile, show-cause notices issued to 25 personnel were filed after their responses were found satisfactory.

DPO Ghazanfar Ali reiterated that no compromise would be made on discipline within the police force. He emphasized that negligence, carelessness, and any form of misconduct in the line of duty would not be tolerated. He further assured that merit and justice would be upheld at all costs to maintain the credibility and integrity of the department
