DPO reviews Eid security, issues strict guidelines for public safety

BANNU, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Yasir Afridi on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting at the DPO office to review security arrangements across the district ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The meeting was attended by SPs, SDPOs, all SHOs, traffic in-charges, and heads of various branches.

During the session, a detailed assessment of law and order and security arrangements for Eid was conducted.

The DPO directed comprehensive measures to strengthen security at sensitive locations, mosques, bazaars, shopping malls, government buildings, and recreational spots, while emphasizing the preparation of an integrated duty plan.

Special instructions were issued for the strict monitoring of disruptive elements, VIP and VVIP security, and safeguarding key installations.

The DPO explicitly prohibited weapon display, aerial firing, fireworks, misuse of loudspeakers, and risky stunts such as one-wheeling.

The district administration has also imposed Section 144, with strict orders that any complaints of aerial firing or one-wheeling will result in departmental action against responsible officers.

Authorities were further instructed to ensure effective patrolling and checkpoints, and officers were urged to personally oversee security arrangements.

Emphasizing vigilance given the current national situation, DPO Yasir Afridi called on all personnel to perform their duties promptly and efficiently, reaffirming that all available resources would be deployed to maintain sustainable peace in the district during Eid.
