Dr Uzma Quraishi assumes charge as acting VC WUM

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi l, who completed her four year tenure in 2023, has formally assumed charge as the Acting VC Women University Multan (WUM ) on Thursday.

A spokesperson for WUM, Anum Zehra said that after assuming charge, Dr. Uzma Quraishi interacted with faculty members from various departments as well as administrative officers.

During these interactions, she discussed strategies to further enhance academic standards, promote research activities, and provide modern educational facilities for students.

She urged faculty members to adopt modern teaching methodologies and actively encourage students to participate in research activities.

In the meeting with administrative officers, Dr. Quraishi issued directives to ensure greater transparency and efficiency in the university’s administrative system.

She emphasized the need for prompt resolution of students’ issues and strict adherence to the academic Calendar. She highlighted that facilitating students would remain the top priority in all administrative matters.

The VC also highlighted her vision to expand international collaborations through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), strengthen industry linkages, and create better employment opportunities for students. She reiterated that ensuring both quality and accessibility in women’s education remains the core mission of the university.

Earlier, upon her arrival at the campus, she was warmly received by Registrar Dr. Deeba Shahsawar, senior officers and faculty members, the spokesperson concluded.
