Drug paddlers get 19-year collective jail term

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) In a major development towards eradicating the menace of illicit drugs, the Rawalpindi courts have awarded a combined sentence of 19 years imprisonment to two drug suppliers, along with a total fine of Rs. 200,000.0

According to details, accused Wali was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and fined Rs. 100,000.0. He was found in possession of 1.35 Kg of hashish. He had been arrested by Kallar Syedan police in May 2024.

Similarly, accused Fawad was awarded a nine-year imprisonment along with a fine of Rs.

100,000.0. He had been arrested by R.A. Bazaar police in June 2025 after recovery of 2.4Kg of hashish from his possession.

Police termed the convictions result of strong evidence and effective prosecution of the cases.

City Police Officer (CPO), Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani appreciated the performance of SSP Investigation and the investigation and legal teams for ensuring the conviction. He reiterated that all-out efforts were being made to eradicate the menace of drugs from society.
