An additional sessions court awarded 10-years imprisonment to a drug trafficker after charges were proven during trial proceedings in a narcotics case

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) An additional sessions court awarded 10-years imprisonment to a drug trafficker after charges were proven during trial proceedings in a narcotics case.

The Additional Sessions Judge Multan announced the verdict upon completion of the trial, sentencing Mubarak Ali to 10 years rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs125,000.

According to the prosecution, in 2025, Assistant Sub-Inspector Munir Hussain of Police Station Jalilabad, along with his team, conducted an operation during which 1,100 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the accused.

Following the recovery, the police registered FIR No. 11/25 under Section 9(C) of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act and initiated legal proceedings against the suspect. The accused was arrested, and police completed the investigation on the basis of solid evidence before submitting the challan in court.

After examining the evidence and completing trial proceedings, the court found the accused guilty and awarded the sentence accordingly.
