Drug supplier gets 9-year jail term

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Mar, 2026) A court in Rawalpindi on Monday sentenced a drug supplier to nine years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 80,000 following an effective investigation and prosecution by Rawalpindi Police.

According to a police spokesman, the convict, Abdullah had been arrested by Ganjmandi police in January 2025 after recovery of 1.46 Kg of charas from his possession.

Police said the court awarded the punishment after solid evidence was presented and the case was pursued effectively during investigation and trial.

The City Police Officer Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani appreciated the performance of the SSP Investigation and the investigation and legal teams for ensuring exemplary punishment to the criminal.

He said the police were taking all possible measures to eliminate the menace of narcotics from society.
