Drug trafficker gets nine-year imprisonment

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jul, 2026) A local court on Thursday sentenced a drug supplier to nine years in prison, besides imposing a fine of Rs 1,00,000.

According to a police spokesperson, the convict, identified as Danish, was apprehended by the Saddar Bairuni Police in 2024 after police recovered 1.

36 kilograms of hashish (charas) from his possession.

The spokesperson highlighted that the rigorous prosecution and solid evidence presented by the police team led to the convict's sentencing by the honourable court.

Rawalpindi Police reiterated their commitment to eradicating the menace of drug peddling from society, adding that all necessary measures were being taken to wipe out this scourge.
