LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) Children from the Abdul Sattar Edhi Center on Thursday visited the Crime Control Department (CCD) Headquarters Township as special guests on the invitation of Additional IG CCD Sohail Zafar Chatha.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) CCD Waqas ul Hassan and other officers warmly received the children upon their arrival and presented them with bouquets. DSP Kidnapping for Ransom Cell Mian Anjum Tauqeer, DSP Atif Khan and other senior officers were also present.
During the visit, various recreational activities including cricket and other games were arranged at the CCD headquarters, where senior officers also joined the children and spent time with them.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG Waqas-ul-Hassan said the children were the “VVIP guests” of the department, adding that it was a matter of pride for the CCD to host them.
He said that since the establishment of CCD, no VVIP had visited the headquarters, making the children’s visit a special occasion.
He paid tribute to Abdul Sattar Edhi for his lifelong services to humanity and love for children, saying his contributions would always be remembered.
The DIG said the CCD had taken special measures for the recovery of missing, runaway and kidnapped children, adding that so far 180 such children had been recovered and reunited with their families. He added that rescued children were also provided psychological counselling to help them reintegrate into society.
A special meal was arranged for the children, and gifts were distributed among them at the end of the visit.
