QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Harnai Arshad Hussain Jamali on Tuesday said that education is a fundamental right of children and the district administration would provide all possible support so that the projects for the rehabilitation of schools and construction of new classrooms are completed soon for improvement of knowledge.
He said that while chairing a meeting with a representative delegation of PPMU Pakistan at the office of Deputy Commissioner Harnai.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Provincial Project Management Unit (PPMU), Education Department, and representatives of relevant institutions.
During the meeting, improvements in the education sector and provision of educational facilities, especially in the affected areas, were discussed in detail. Briefing on its ongoing and proposed projects, the PPMU delegation said that under PTSMCS initiatives, plans are being made to construct additional classrooms in about 3000 schools across the province, to meet the growing demand and provide a better educational environment to the students.
The lack of facilities in schools for boys and girls at the middle and Primary levels was highlighted in the meeting.
During the meeting, it was also agreed to appoint a focal person to the DDO of the District Education Department to ensure timely monitoring and implementation of the projects.
Deputy Commissioner Harnai said that education is a fundamental right of children and the district administration would provide all possible support so that the projects for the rehabilitation of schools and construction of new classrooms are completed at the earliest.
He directed the concerned authorities to identify on priority basis those schools which are completely damaged or where there are insufficient classrooms in terms of the number of students.
