Education Minister to inaugurate National Book Museum on Monday

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2026) National Book Museum will be inaugurated on Monday (May 18) by Federal Minister for education and Professional Training Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui at the National Book Foundation premises.

The National Book Museum is the first museum of its kind in Pakistan dedicated exclusively to promoting book culture and preserving the country’s literary and intellectual heritage.

Developed as a landmark cultural initiative, the museum aims to inspire readers, researchers, students, and lovers of literature through a unique and immersive experience, said a press release issued here on Sunday.

The museum showcases rare and ancient copies of the Holy Quran, exquisite examples of Islamic calligraphy, and dedicated corners highlighting the lives and contributions of prominent national literary and historical personalities. Visitors will also find special sections representing Pakistan’s regional languages and literary traditions.

Among the major attractions are golden sculptures of renowned figures including Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Hafeez Jalandhari, Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi, and Saadat Hasan Manto.

The museum also features creatively designed displays such as miniature trucks loaded with books, a small decorative train, framed sacred Quranic pages, and a “Pillar of Autographs,” all intended to engage visitors and celebrate the value of knowledge and literature.

A specially designed office table made entirely of books, along with various artistic installations carrying quotations of wisdom and knowledge from around the world, has been created to enrich the intellectual experience of visitors and promote a deeper appreciation for learning and culture.
