Eid-ul-Azha celebrated across district with religious fervour

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated across Sialkot on Wednesday with religious fervour and devotion under stringent security arrangements.

According to the district administration,Eid congregations were held at Eidgahs,mosques and open grounds across the district, where worshippers offered Eid prayers in large numbers.

During their sermons,religious scholars and khateebs highlighted the spirit and philosophy of sacrifice associated with Eid-ul- Azha.

Special prayers were also offered for Pakistan’s unity,stability and prosperity,the welfare of the Muslim Ummah and the freedom of oppressed Muslims, particularly in Palestine and Kashmir.

Following the prayers,citizens performed the ritual sacrifice of camels,cows,goats and sheep in different parts of the district.

Meanwhile,Sialkot Police and intelligence agencies remained on high alert with authorities implementing a comprehensive security plan to avert any untoward incident during the Eid holidays.

Senior police officials said law enforcement personnel maintained round-the-clock vigilance and monitoring of suspicious individuals to ensure peace and security across the district.
