Eight held in police operation; stolen coils, illegal weapons recovered

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) Eight suspects were arrested while stolen coils of electricity transformers and illegal weapons were recovered as a search and strike operation conducted within the jurisdiction of Gomal University Police Station in Paroa Circle.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of SP City Muhammad Nauman, with DSP Paroa Muhammad Saleem Khan Baloch and under the leadership of SHO of PS Gomal University Zafar Abbas. During the crackdown, the police apprehended Muhammad Arif, son of Safar Zaman; Hassan Muavia, son of Abdul Sattar; and Muhammad Razzaq, son of Ghulam Qasim recovering 11 transformer coils from their possession.

In a separate action, Muhammad Ashfaq, son of Muhammad Nawaz, was arrested and a Kalashnikov SMG along with six rounds of ammunition was seized from him. Another suspect namely Muhammad Ameen, son of Sher Zaman, was taken into custody with a 12-bore repeater and six cartridges.

Additionally, Tareen Khan, son of Syed Akbar; Abdul Qayyum, son of Ghulam Jafar; and Farooq, son of Khuda Bakhsh, were also arrested.

DSP Saleem Khan Baloch stated that operations against criminal elements would be continued without discrimination to ensure law and order in the area.
