Eight persons were killed and 1,583 injured in 1,351 road traffic crashes reported across Punjab during the last 24 hours

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Eight persons were killed and 1,583 injured in 1,351 road traffic crashes reported across Punjab during the last 24 hours.

According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson on Friday, 697 seriously injured victims were shifted to hospitals, while 886 with minor injuries were treated at the scene by rescue teams.

The data showed that 78 percent of the accidents involved motorbikes, underscoring the need for strict enforcement of traffic laws. Among the victims were 925 drivers, 66 underage drivers, 506 pedestrians and 160 passengers.

Lahore remained the most affected city with 277 accidents and 337 victims, followed by Faisalabad and Multan.

Authorities have urged road users to follow traffic rules to prevent further loss of lives.
