Eight women pickpockets held

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2026) Multan Police continued its crackdown against criminal elements across the city, arresting eight women allegedly involved in pickpocketing during an operation in the busy Delhi Gate Bazaar.

According to police sources, teams of the Multan Police Pink Squad conducted the action and apprehended the eight suspected pickpockets from the market area. The operation was part of the ongoing efforts to curb street crime and protect citizens, particularly in crowded commercial areas where people are more vulnerable to such incidents.

Police said that legal proceedings had been initiated against the arrested women in accordance with the law, while further action would be taken following completion of the relevant legal process.

The crackdown was being carried out on the directions of City Police Officer (CPO) Sadiq Ali Dogar, with police teams conducting indiscriminate action against criminal elements to ensure the safety and security of citizens and maintain a peaceful environment in the city.

Multan Police said it was taking all possible measures to prevent criminal activities and provide a secure environment to citizens. The police also urged people to remain vigilant in crowded places and immediately inform the police about any suspicious person or activity.
