Elderly woman bludgeoned to death

KARACHI:

A 61-year-old widow was bludgeoned to death inside her one-room home in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, with police suspecting robbery as the motive.

The victim was identified as Amina, wife of the late Abdul Ghafoor, a resident of Block 13-G, Madina Colony Katchi Abadi.

According to SHO Gulshan-e-Iqbal Saud, Amina lived alone on the first floor of a 30-square-yard house with her disabled son.

Police said unidentified assailants entered the home and struck her on the head with a brick. Her gold earrings were forcibly torn from her ears.

The body was found in a pool of blood when her son returned home from work.
