Emergency response team constituted to ensure uninterrupted power supply : Engr. Arshad Chauhan

MIRPUR (AJK) , (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 21st May, 2026) The authorities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) constituted an Emergency Response Team to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply in the lake-side city of Mirpur amid an intensifying heatwave, the officials sources said on Thursday.

Executive Engineer (Store Division), Arshad Chauhan, said the team had been placed on high alert to prevent prolonged power outages.

According to officials, the Emergency Response Team was formed on the directives of Chief Engineer Electricity Mirpur Muhammad Nazir Mughal to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and immediate restoration of power in case of technical faults in areas under the division’s jurisdiction.

Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the team , Chauhan said providing relief to citizens during the ongoing spell of extreme heat was the top priority of the State Electricity Department.

He said officers and line staff were working round the clock to maintain uninterrupted electricity supply and ensure swift restoration in the event of any technical malfunction.
