MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2026) In a major transition to digital environmental governance, the Divisional Environmental Committee, after deciding a backlog of over 300 manual cases, has resolved to take up all the future cases through e-Biz portal to ensure transparency and efficiency.

The committee, chaired by Commissioner Aamir Kareem Khan, decided 304 cases attaining zero pendency over the course of five meetings held last year, achieving a milestone that had remained unaddressed for years.

Presiding over the final session on manual cases, commissioner announced that all future applications will be processed exclusively through the E-Biz system, ensuring streamlined procedures and improved oversight.

The last meeting witnessed approval of thirteen (13) cases with seven (7) deferred, and fourteen (14) others rejected.

Officials said that approvals were granted strictly on the basis of complete documentation, adding the incomplete submissions were rejected to uphold regulatory standards.

The commissioner also ordered strict enforcement against unauthorized constructions initiated without mandatory approvals, directing officials to seal such properties where necessary.

Referring to poultry-related cases, commissioner declared it mandatory for applicants to clearly specify land area and number of poultry birds in their submissions. Operational clearance has been tied to verification by officials after checking operational capacity in submitted record and situation on the site.

Expressing concern over procedural lapses, commissioner ordered show-cause notices to be issued to the Deputy Director and Assistant Director in Lodhran for forwarding cases without proper scrutiny.

Officials reiterated that the new measures were aimed at strengthening environmental compliance, eliminate irregularities, and establish a more transparent and accountable system across the division.
