KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) The Governor of Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has said that environmental protection has become one of the most pressing needs of our time.

Addressing a ceremony at Governor House as Chief Guest on the Occasion of World Environment Day, he said that collective awareness and practical measures are essential to address the impacts of climate change.

The Governor of Sindh said that Pakistan is among the countries most severely affected by climate change; adopting an environmentally friendly lifestyle is the need of the hour.

"We must jointly combat the excessive use of plastic, water wastage, and deforestation," he said adding that planting trees is not merely a campaign but a guarantee of a secure future for coming generations.

Hashmi said that Governor House will fully support every positive initiative aimed at eliminating environmental pollution and promoting a greener Sindh.

He said that a clean, green and safe environment is our collective responsibility.The Governor urged the public to plant at least one tree to help ensure a greener and safer future.
