PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohab Ali Shah, said on that providing every child in the province with access to school enrollment and the completion of basic education was a top priority of the government.
The Chief Secretary was chairing a meeting, which was attended by officials from the Education Department on Friday.
He stated that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to launch a comprehensive province-wide campaign to ensure access to schools for out-of-school children. Under this initiative, multiple departments will work jointly on planning, gathering accurate data, and supporting deserving families to facilitate children’s enrollment. The initiative has been developed under the provincial government’s Good Governance Roadmap.
A province-wide survey will be conducted to collect precise data at the village council level on children who are not attending school, he said and added that the survey would identify out-of-school children aged 5 to 16, while also assessing the future educational needs of children up to the age of 5.
The Chief Secretary said data on enrolled children will be compiled from public, private, and Federal educational institutions, as well as madrassas, non-formal education centers, and special education programs.
Based on this comprehensive dataset, planning, budgeting, and resource allocation will be aligned more effectively with the specific needs of each area, he added.
