Excise dept employee held while taking bribe in Multan

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Multan on Thursday arrested an employee of the Excise and Taxation Department for accepting a bribe from a citizen.

According to ACE spokesman, the raid was carried out under the supervision of Regional Director Anti-Corruption Multan Basharat Nabi.

Assistant Director Investigation Zaheer Ahmed and his team apprehended Excise Department employee Atta-ur-Rehman while receiving Rs20,000 from a citizen in exchange for facilitating the waiver of tax.

During the operation, the anti-corruption team recovered the marked Currency notes from the accused and further legal proceedings initiated.

The crackdown against corrupt elements would continue without any discrimination as per the vision of Punjab government.
