PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department recovered 108 kilograms of hashish from a vehicle and arrested an accused on the spot.
According to an official news release, a Special Squad of Excise Intelligence conducted a major operation near Wazir Dand here and foiled an attempt to smuggle a huge cache of narcotics through a vehicle bearing registration number LEE-9469. An accused identified as Muhammad Bilal, son of Farhad Gul, resident of Peshawar, was arrested on the spot.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Provincial In-charge Excise Intelligence Bureau Saud Khan Gandapur and Excise and Taxation Officer (Narcotics Control) Majid Khan.
The team was led by In-Charge EIB Special Squad Waheed Akbar Khan, while SHO Majid Hussain and Assistant Sub-Inspector Malik Niaz, along with other personnel, also took part in the operation.
A case has been registered against the accused at Excise Police Station Khyber, and further investigation is underway.
The Provincial Minister, Syed Fakhar Jehan, has reiterated that a zero-tolerance policy is being strictly enforced against all elements involved in the smuggling, sale and illegal trade of narcotics across the province.
He has further stated that all available resources will be utilised to eradicate the menace of drugs and that every possible step will continue to be taken to safeguard public life and property, and to ensure a secure future for the younger generation.
