Fans might finally return to stadiums for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 playoffs and final, as league officials are reportedly in active discussions with authorities about allowing spectators back.

All PSL 11 matches in Karachi and Lahore have so far been played behind closed doors as the government has restricted them as a result of the fuel crisis. Although the group phase has been conducted without spectators, the recent media coverage shows that the government is contemplating a suspension of the ban on high stakes playoff games and the final.

Franchise owners, too, have supported the idea to reopen to fans, and have combined to call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on social media to allow fans to attend the rest of the season.

The first-time the league has expanded to this format, PSL 11, March 26-May 3, consists of eight teams vying for the coveted title. Getting fans back would be the jolt to the playoffs and the title match, further enhancing the final moments of the tournament.
