Fahad Shahbaz encourages youth to turn summer break into a season of learning, communication skills and self-development

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jun, 2026) With summer vacations offering a golden opportunity for learning beyond the classroom, students should equip themselves with communication skills, artificial intelligence knowledge and strong reading habits while playing a constructive role in society, said Fahad Shahbaz, Founder and President of the Youth General Assembly while speaking to a local media outlet on Friday.

Fahad Shahbaz called for greater youth engagement in learning, communication skills and self-development during the summer vacations, stating that this period offers a valuable opportunity for personal growth and constructive use of time.

He said that it is the best time for students to read newspapers and books, enhance digital skills and especially improve communication and language abilities, which he described as essential for success in the modern

world.

He further urged the youth to play an active role on social media by spreading awareness and positive messages, emphasizing that young people must use digital platforms responsibly to guide and inform society.

He also lamented excessive screen time being wasted on aimless scrolling, urging youth to turn their digital engagement into meaningful opportunities for learning, skill-building, and personal growth instead of passive consumption.

He further highlighted the role of the Youth General Assembly in bringing young people into policy-making processes and encouraging their participation in decision-making, especially for the empowerment of youth aged 15 to 29.

He warned that misinformation and disinformation remain major challenges in today’s digital age and stressed that these issues must be collectively addressed through awareness, education and responsible use of media

platforms.
