Faisalabad Chamber delegation calls on Sindh Governor

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Apr, 2026) Governor Sindh, Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi, said that enhanced cooperation at the Federal level is essential for the promotion of industry and trade.

He remarked that Faisalabad is a major industrial hub of the country, while the business community serves as the backbone of the national economy.

He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Governor Sindh further stated that products from Faisalabad act as brand ambassadors of Pakistan worldwide, particularly textile goods such as cotton yarn, fabric, bed sheets, towels, and hosiery, which have gained international recognition.

Earlier, the delegation, led by President FCCI Farooq Yousaf Sheikh, congratulated the Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi on assuming office and appreciated his public service.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the overall economic situation, promotion of trade activities, and strengthening of industry and commerce. On the occasion, President FCCI Farooq Yousaf Sheikh briefed the Governor Sindh on issues faced by industries and matters related to increasing exports.

The delegation also requested the Governor Sindh to take up with the federal government the issue of relocating Faisalabad’s industries to designated industrial zones.

Furthermore, the FCCI President invited the Governor Sindh Syed Nehal Hashmi to attend the Faisalabad Expo, scheduled to be held in Lahore later this month as the chief guest. The Governor Sindh thanked him and accepted the invitation.
